The commentator had to apologise today as the camera kept on mistaking the ball for the linesman's head
Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC swapped its human camera operators for an automated broadcast system from Pixellot, programmed to follow the ball through the match. At a home game at Caledonian Stadium, the system found a second ball: the sideline referee's bald head.
The camera repeatedly panned away from the actual play to center the frame on the official's head, as the club's 3-minute highlights video shows. The commentator apologized on air. The club livestreams home games to season ticket holders and a pay-per-view audience.
