My Snapchat AI posted a random 1 second story and isn't replying to me AND IM FREAKED OUT
On Tuesday, Snapchat's My AI chatbot posted a Story of its own and then stopped answering messages. The Story was a two-toned image that some users read as a photo of their own ceiling, which did not help the mood. When people tried to talk to the bot, it replied, "Sorry, I encountered a technical issue."
Snap says it was an outage, fixed that night, and that My AI has no Stories feature at all. "My AI experienced a temporary outage that's now resolved," a spokesperson told TechCrunch, adding that "At this time, My AI does not have Stories feature." The chatbot launched earlier this year pinned to the top of the Chat feed with no way to remove or disable it, drew a wave of one-star App Store reviews, and a Washington Post test found it responding inappropriately to messages from minors.
