"There is nothing more funny than Israel stealing the identity of a British Angolan-Portuguese singer to create a fake Israeli in an AI video about indigeneity."
Israel's government-run social media account posted an AI-generated propaganda video featuring a woman who bore a striking resemblance to Manchester-based rapper and singer IAMDDB, reciting pro-Israel lyrics about indigeneity. The singer did not consent to or participate in the video. Activist Rafael Shimunov traced the likeness back to a 2018 press photo of IAMDDB, in which she wore a near-identical outfit to the AI-generated figure. The video has since been deleted.
IAMDDB, whose real name is Diana Adelaide Rocha De Brito, issued a formal statement denying any involvement and making clear she does not endorse the video's message. "My image is mine. My voice is mine. My values are mine," she wrote. She said she is exploring legal steps to protect her likeness and rights.
